The basics

People, relations, and sharing

Adding people

Click Add person in the sidebar to place a new node on the canvas. Each person gets a colored circle with their initials until you give them a name.

Click any node to select it, then open the panel on the right to set their name, add a photo, and write a note. Changes save automatically.

Nodes can be dragged freely around the canvas. Double-click a node to focus on them — the canvas dims everyone else and shows only the people they are directly connected to. Double-click again (or click an empty area) to clear focus.

Drawing relations

Click one node to select them

Connecting two people takes two clicks:

1

Shift + click the first person to select them as the source.

2

Shift + click the second person to draw a relation between them.

A labeled pill appears along the line. Click the pill to change the relationship type. By default every new connection starts as strangers.

Relations can be mutual (a single shared label, e.g. both are "friends") or directional: each side of the relationship can have a different label. When editing a pill you can switch between these two modes.

Renaming your graph

Click the name field at the top of the sidebar to give your graph a title. The name appears on the share page and in your profile.

Sharing

Click Share graph in the sidebar to publish your graph. Publishing creates a public link anyone can open — no account required.

If you are signed in, the graph is saved to your account and you can update it later with the save button next to the share button. Guests can publish too, but the link is not tied to an account and cannot be updated.

To remove a shared graph, open the share dialog again and switch the visibility dropdown from Public to Private.

Importing and exporting

Under the Data section at the bottom of the sidebar you can export any graph as a JSON file and import it back later — or share the file directly. Exported files include all nodes, connections, circles, and custom relationship colors.
